Intruder Alarm Maintenance

Intruder Alarm Maintenance — SSAIB-Certified, Insurance Compliant

Planned maintenance to BS9263, compliance certification after every visit, and 24/7 reactive callout across Yorkshire, Lincolnshire and the Humber.

Monitored intruder alarm systems must be regularly maintained to satisfy insurance requirements, retain police response and remain compliant with BS9263. SPS Technical provides SSAIB-certified planned maintenance for commercial intruder alarm systems across Yorkshire, Lincolnshire and the Humber — with compliance certificates issued after every visit and 24/7 reactive callout for faults and failures.

Why Intruder Alarm Maintenance Is Not Optional

Under BS9263, monitored Grade 2 systems require a minimum of one maintenance visit per year. Grade 3 and above require two. Police forces require current maintenance certification as a condition of retaining a police URN — and most commercial insurers require evidence of maintained, SSAIB-certified systems as a condition of policy. A lapsed maintenance certificate can result in loss of police response and insurance disputes following a break-in.

Legal requirements

Monitored intruder alarm systems require regular maintenance as a condition of insurance and police response. Under BS9263, Grade 2 systems require a minimum of one maintenance visit per year; Grade 3 and above require two. Police forces also require evidence of current maintenance to retain a URN. SPS Technical's SSAIB-certified maintenance satisfies insurer requirements, police conditions and the standards set out in BS9263 — with a compliance certificate issued after every visit.

What we check

What's Included in an Intruder Alarm Maintenance Visit

SPS Technical maintenance visits cover every component of your intruder alarm system — from detection devices and panel operation through to ARC signalling path verification and tamper circuit inspection. Every visit is documented and a compliance certificate issued on the same day.

Every maintenance visit covers the following as standard — a compliance certificate is issued on completion.

Control panel inspection — event log, fault history and battery condition
All detection zones tested — detectors walked and triggered
Sounder and strobe test — audibility and visibility confirmed
Entry and exit timing verification
ARC signalling test — both transmission paths verified
Tamper circuit inspection
External sounder and battery condition check
Remote keypad and user code verification
Engineer reset and engineer access log reviewed
System certificate issued

We Maintain Systems We Didn't Install

SPS Technical carries out SSAIB-certified maintenance on intruder alarm systems regardless of original installer. We audit the system, identify any compliance gaps and issue a certificate from the first visit.
