The principles behind how SPS Technical designs, maintains and manages systems.
These values are not aspirations written for a brochure. They describe how we approach technical systems, client relationships and the long-term responsibility of maintaining fire and security infrastructure.
Our Values
Eight values that shape our work
Each value shapes how we communicate, what we document and what we recommend — across every visit, every report and every recommendation.
Accountability
Technical systems need clear ownership. We believe every maintenance visit, recommendation, fault, takeover and remedial action should have a clear owner and a clear next step. If something is not right, we will explain the issue, what it means and what needs to happen next.
Reliability
Fire and security systems are there for a reason. They need to work when they are needed. Reliability is central to how we maintain, repair and review systems. Our role is to help clients reduce avoidable failures, missed maintenance, unmanaged faults and uncertainty around system condition.
Compliance-led thinking
We work in areas where standards, certification, insurers and client responsibilities matter. Our advice is shaped by recognised standards, good practice, system condition and the practical requirements of the site. We help clients understand what should be reviewed, documented, maintained or improved.
Regional commitment
SPS Technical is a regional provider. Our engineers, management and support teams operate across Yorkshire, Lincolnshire and the Humber. Regional delivery gives clients better accountability, better site knowledge, more practical response and stronger long-term relationships.
Transparency
Clients should understand the condition of their systems and the reason behind any recommendation. We aim to provide clear reporting, honest remedial advice, practical options and straightforward communication so clients can make better decisions around risk, cost and compliance.
Practical innovation
Innovation sometimes means better remote monitoring, clearer asset records, better service reporting, improved fault tracking, smarter maintenance planning or a more joined-up link between system, control room and response. Our approach is practical — we use technology where it improves visibility, reliability and decision-making.
Long-term ownership
A fire or security system should not be treated as a one-off installation. It needs to be maintained, reviewed and managed throughout its life. SPS Technical focuses on long-term system ownership, helping clients plan maintenance, respond to faults, manage upgrades and avoid systems becoming neglected or non-compliant.
Best value
Best value does not always mean the cheapest quote. In technical services, best value means systems properly maintained, faults dealt with, recommendations that are clear, and clients who understand where money needs to be spent and where it does not.
In Practice
Values that shape every visit, every report, every recommendation
Whether we are carrying out a planned maintenance visit, responding to a fault, taking over a system from another provider or advising on a remedial programme — these values shape how we communicate, what we document and what we recommend.
