SPS Technical is a Paxton Gold approved installer — the second highest tier in Paxton's partner programme. This means our engineers are trained directly by Paxton, authorised to install and maintain the full Paxton product range, and backed by Paxton's five-year product guarantee on all hardware we supply and install. It also means clients have direct access to Paxton's technical support team through us. Not all installers offering Paxton systems hold Gold or Platinum status — it matters when you're specifying a system that will be in place for ten or more years.
Choosing the Right Paxton System
Paxton manufactures three main product lines for commercial access control. Net2 is the established PC-based platform for most commercial sites — scalable, licence-free and integrable with CCTV and fire alarms. Paxton 10 is the next-generation cloud-based platform combining access control and video management, accessible from any browser from anywhere. Switch2 and Compact are standalone systems for single doors or supplementary access points where a networked system isn't required.

Fire alarm interface
Fire Alarm Interface — A Legal Requirement
In any building with both a fire alarm and access control system, the two must be correctly interfaced. When a fire alarm activates, electric locks must release automatically to allow safe evacuation — this is a requirement under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005. Because SPS Technical installs both fire alarms and access control, the interface is designed in from the outset, tested at installation and verified at every maintenance visit.
